“Elections Have Consequences”

These words were spoken by former POTUS Obama who also went on to say, “It’s the political way for winners to tell losers: Tough luck, you lost. Get over it.” Of course, elections have consequences, but you should never give up fighting for what you value and believe in.  This is the beautiful concept of Americanism, where everyone gets to participate in the process, and no one should face violent attacks merely because they have expressed differing beliefs and/or values than the majority.

Another great Americanism is something called Federalism.  Federalism keeps the central government, from dictating how individual states govern their own sovereign territory within the federal system.  This Americanism is unique to the United States and protects the rights of individuals better than in a unitary government where the central government dictates to all.

One example of how Federalism provides you greater freedom and protection is the way Life Insurance is regulated.  Each state regulates what can and can’t be sold within their territory. This provides you, as an individual, with more accessibility to a swifter resolution to any complaint or concern you may have about a claim against a carrier. This is because states can respond so much quicker than the bulky, cumbersome federal government.

One of the ways our Federalist system keeps from becoming a Unitary system of government is something which many have misunderstood and that is The Electoral College.  This group of 538 members who are nominated by the political parties in each state, match in number the total number of Senators and Representatives from each state, and the District of Columbia (Washington DC) is given three.  This group of electoral members, democratically selected by the political parties from each state or district,  are the ones who cast the actual vote in a presidential election on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December following the popular vote which has already taken place on the first Tuesday of November of the same year.

Even in this however, our US Constitution clearly allows each state to determine how electoral members are selected and how they are required to vote.  Some states mandate that all electoral votes go to the candidate who receives the majority popular vote in that state.  Other states employ what is called a “district system” which provides even greater liberty in the process.  The important point to understand is, the states have the right to choose how they want to select and require their electoral members to vote, not the federal government.  This obviously provides each state with more freedom than a Unitary form of government possibly could.

One more important fact about the Electoral Vote.  A state electoral member cannot vote for a presidential and vice-presidential ticket where both candidates come from the same state. This keeps one state from securing more power over other states in the administrative branch of the Federal system of the government.

Electoral members have been known to break their bond to vote according to their state’s pre-determined guidelines.  Such behavior can much more quickly be held accountable at the local state level than if such unseemly behavior were to take place at the national level.   Yet another reason Federalism is a better system of government than a Unitary form of government.

Federalism protects the freedom and liberty of the people.  It inhibits the federal government from dictatorially intimidating and harassing the states and their citizens.  It also keeps the election of our president and vice president from being selected by a few individuals who could run those elected officials like a puppet on a string.

Liberty

Liberty

Liberty is precious and, when morally exercised, produces great value. Yet when liberty is exercised without moral restraint and accountability; chaos, turmoil and devastation result.

Today many are exercising their liberty without any moral accountability.  We are witnesses to the destructive fruition this creates.  The unruliness, disruptive and boisterous behavior of those exploiting their liberty, indicates a demise of liberty instead of a respect and expansion of it.

Local government, for its part, has encouraged this oppressiveness by NOT:

  1. Establishing and enforcing laws to maintain order
  2. Protecting their citizens from threats against their person, property and speech, and
  3. Promoting the general welfare of the public over special interests

These three fundamentals are the basic role of government and are consistently provided by a morally accountable administration.  Unfortunately, laws are being established today which protect special interests, not the general welfare of the public.  Citizens are being threatened personally.  Their property is being destroyed and their speech is being squelched, distorted or labeled.  This has gone so far that entire groups of people are being accused of being “Enemies of the State” and even worse.

But this is the after-effect of a society which has lost the true meaning of Liberty.  Liberty has been redefined as “a license to do as you please”, regardless of who it hurts, what property is taken, damaged or destroyed, and who’s speech is curtailed or eliminated.

Fortunately, there are millions of Americans who are tired of having their God given unalienable rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” being tossed about and quashed.  It is these true American’s that can remove the “fake” government and replace it with a government that honors and enforces the three fundamentals of what a government should be, restoring our society to one that honors everyone’s unalienable rights, not just a select few.

We have a duty to rectify this breech of Liberty.  Vote this election!  If you love Liberty and want to keep her, vote!  If at all possible vote in person so the “fake” government can’t stall the count and disenfranchise you by postponing the outcome of this important civil duty that Liberty herself demands of you.

Human Life Value: A Life Insurance Term with a Twist

history books and clock

History is something which needs to be understood lest it be repeated.  The attempt to reconstruct history is a tool used by social Progressives to manipulate others into accepting their ideas and philosophy.  This practice should be countered with the truth, on all fronts, to avoid repeating the history which has destroyed Human Life Value instead of providing upward mobility.

Social Progressives have always attempted to reconstruct history, and today is no different.  For example, social Progressives want to say it was racism which caused the founding fathers to count a slave as only 3/5th of a person instead of a full person.  Looking at the historical facts, however, one discovers it was the slave owners who wanted slaves to be counted as full persons, as it would have given slave owning states more representation in Congress.  Their purpose was NOT to acknowledge the value of their slaves’ lives as equal to their own.

Therefore, the 3/5th value placed on the life of a slave was a compromise adopted NOT to promote slavery but to limit it.  This compromise became the foundation stone upon which abolition was established because it limited the slave holding states from dominating the house of representatives and spreading slavery to new states as they were added to the Union.  It is important to note that free blacks, both northern and southern, were counted as full citizens during this era.  Those who didn’t own slaves wanted to prevent slaves from being fully counted in any census because they knew it would spread slavery if slave owning states had more representation in the Congress.

Of course, slavery had been forced upon the colonies by the King of England who was petitioned multiple times by the founding fathers to stop importing slaves from Africa to the colonies.  But the slave trade was too profitable for the King to listen to the colonies’ requests, and so their request was ignored much like the protests of the colonists against the taxes which were assessed upon them by the crown without any representation.

Ultimately, the tyranny of the Crown lost Britain the colonies as the founding fathers declared independence, fought the revolutionary war and freed the colonies.  Sadly, slavery had become so engrained in certain colonies that it took a civil war to abolish slavery after the United States had freed itself from Britain’s rule.

This pattern of becoming dependent on slave labor is being repeated today by those who take advantage of human trafficking. Evil behavior is part of human nature and is why we need to rise above human nature and embrace the founding fathers’ acknowledgement that ALL MEN are created equally.  It is only when human nature is subdued, tamed and replaced that evil attempts to use others to fulfill selfish desires is overcome.

Yet today evil is not being subdued, tamed or replaced.  Instead it is being encouraged by social Progressives who are promoting laxer immigration laws which favor human trafficking and will provide them with cheaper labor and more power in congress.  Ironically, those who favor tighter immigration laws, knowing stricter immigration laws would reduce human trafficking and lay the foundation on which freer trade and freer passage between nations could be established, are called racists.

Unfortunately, the reason for the 3/5th value placed on the life of a slave by the founders was distorted along with many other principles upon which this great country was established.  Today we know there are those who believe black lives are inferior to white lives and vice-versa. Even more regrettably, people who hold these beliefs tend to find legitimate positions in our Progressive society, be it in science, medicine, politics, academia or some other setting.  Lyndon B. Johnson, who was known to be a bigot, became president of the United States.

A lesser-known social Progressive was the statistician, Frederick L. Hoffman.  Hoffman found his niche in the Public Health sector of American society.  Hoffman was born and educated in Germany and unfortunately, Prudential Life Insurance Company employed him as their statistician. Eventually the “Big Three” life insurance carriers, John Hancock, Metropolitan and Prudential began to use Hoffman’s Fake Science and Medical statistics to restrict the coverage and even deny black life insurance policies from being solicited.

Today’s social Progressives might impute this to imply that black Americans are not able to purchase the life insurance they need because of this blatant racism. However, the life insurance industry purged itself of Hoffman and those who practiced race-based underwriting years ago. In fact, many studies show blacks three times more likely to own life insurance than white people even though there is ample evidence to suggest that the black population in the United States is under more stress financially than the overall population.  African Americans hold significantly more life insurance than whites after accounting for other confounding factors such as income and education.

Here are the facts.  Everybody is created with equal value in the sight of God. It is human beings who place one life above another.  The founding fathers provided the opportunity for upward mobility for all lives, not because they were perfect but because they realized it is God who determines the value of each person, not some human or human institution.   “Fake Science” like Fredrick Hoffman used, or the “Fake Reasoning” which the slave owners used to rationalize the evil discrimination which they practiced upon those unlike themselves, is part of human history throughout the world.  The question remains: What are we to do today?

Today, we are witnessing the re-enactment of history:  One group of lives is being portrayed as being more valuable than another group of lives based upon outward appearances.  We see certain people demanding reparations from another group of people based merely on skin color. This is done with the assumption that a certain skin color of people is responsible for certain evils committed in history.  The problem with this demand is that those who make such demands are repeating the same mistake for which they are demanding reparations.  Instead of learning from history, they are attempting to make things morally right.

But neither history nor the present will ever be morally right.  As humans we are all morally deficient.  It is only when humans overrule their morally deficient instincts to pursue their own self-interests by whatever legitimate means possible and treat others as they themselves would like to be treated that society really progresses.  Realize that social Progressives have highjacked the word progress, adopting it as their name.  Yet, Progressives move our society backwards with their violence, hatred, bigotry and prejudices, not forward.

This month of August is the 400th anniversary of when blacks were kidnapped from their villages by other blacks in Angola and shipped to the Americas.  Twenty of these black people ended up in Jamestown, Virginia.  Yet most of the African slaves ended up on Caribbean Plantations owned by Europeans who ironically avoided using slaves in their native Europe because of the Christian beliefs regarding slavery which dominated the continent.  Most slaves therefore did not come to the United States or the colonies.  By the time of the Civil War only 4 million black slaves were in the United States, 95% of them were in the Sothern states, even though nearly 20 million black slaves had been sold in the slave trade up until that time.

Regrettably, slavery is far from being a piece of history. Today there are nearly 40.3 million slaves throughout the world.  They are used for prostitution, physical bondage, forced marriages, sexual exploitation and forced labor.  Most of today’s slaves are women and children.

It is time for society to wake up instead of being merely woke. We need to stop looking at the outward appearances of others and look inward. “For out of the heart comes the evil thoughts of murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony and slander. These are what defile a person.” We need to understand that a person cannot be rightly judged on his ancestors’ merits, otherwise we would all be guilty.

Instead of trying to reconstruct and recompense for historical evils, we should spend our time, money and effort in eliminating the evil that exists today.  There is no amount of good which can be done to remedy the past, but there are countless ways we can alter the present and make the world a better place for tomorrow.

As black Americans overcame the racism which Hoffman introduced into the life insurance industry, and thereby became the most insured race in America, we too can redirect the hate and violence of today’s Progressives and use that energy to emancipate the 40 million plus slaves of today who are forced to do unspeakable things for the profit and pleasure of others. Doing so will create a huge legacy of upward mobility for all humans instead of the barbarian hate-fueled, guilt-laden propaganda which the socialist Progressives use to pit one group of humans against another, destroying the upward mobility of all humans beings.

The good news is that 79% of the U.S. population still believes the U.S. was founded on ideals of freedom and equality!  Meaning we still have hope to keep American free and in doing so be the shining light on a hill which lets the rest of the world realize that upward mobility is possible for all human beings, not merely the social Progressives whose real desire is to tyrannize and dictate what the rest of the population can and can’t do.

Life is short.  Today there is still time to choose what kind of life want to have.  You can have a life fueled by hate and violence, which the social Progressives want for you to have.  Or you can decide to spend your time, effort and money on building value which provides upward mobility for everybody.  The choice is yours. But only because you are still free.

Racism, Discrimination and Xenophobia: What Can You Do?

Racism, Discrimination and Xenophobia: What Can You Do?

Do racism, discrimination and xenophobia exist today?  Absolutely!  Human beings naturally gravitate and preferentially treat those with whom they find commonality.  Unfortunately, some people use this commonality as an indication in determining who is better or superior, and who is not.

The solution to this deeply seated human problem will never be solved by holding up any human or human feature above another.  Doing so only perpetuates discrimination albeit on a different level.  To solve the problem of racism humans must look beyond themselves to the fundamental source of racism.

Today we hear catchphrases such as, “We are all the same color on the inside” or “We all bleed red.”  Physically, this is true.  But racism is not a physical disorder which can be treated by prescribing rose-colored glasses for everyone.  Racism lies much deeper than that.  Racism hides itself deep within the human soul.  Interestingly, the person harboring such evil in their soul believes, for the most part, the evil is hidden from the rest of the world.  Sometimes this is true and at other times it is obvious to everybody.  Never-the-less to eradicate racism, a new set of values must replace the distorted and unhealthy values harbored in the heart. Without accomplishing this, racism will continue to distort and destroy the lives of both those who harbor it and those who are subjected to it.

For too long we have been told that the issue of racism can be solved by looking within. Yet looking within has not and cannot provide any lasting solution. The reason for this is, the only thing an honest person finds when looking within is a bias towards one’s own predilections.  These predilections are the breeding grounds of racism in the first place. We need a much broader perspective than merely our own inner thoughts and opinions to eliminate racism.

Many suppose that racism can be solved by compelling schools and companies to be more inclusive in who they allow to attend and who they hire.  Yet, such regulations and quotas require people to focus on the unchangeable outward features of a person instead of on the changeable characteristics and qualities.  Without question it is the changeable characteristics and qualities of a person which will foil or further a person in their education or in pursuit of a better job.  Constrained upward mobility is not the result of too few laws and regulations but the opposite.  The plethora of laws, regulations and quotas which are based on the unchangeable features of certain demographics have restricted upward mobility and fostered racism.

For this reason, no amount of affirmative action, quotas or retributions can, or ever will, eliminate racism. Racism can only be abolished if a person’s belief system changes.  Yet no outside force, whether that force be in the form of more laws, regulations, fines, rewards or punishments can alter a person’s belief system.

It has been rightfully stated, “You can’t dictate what is found in someone’s heart.”  Inevitably the only real solution to abolishing racism it a change of heart. Hearts change only on a personal level. You cannot systemically change hearts.  Systemic racism is a political phrase which only stirs up greater xenophobia, and group guilt.  Group guilt gives no quarters and therefore no forgiveness.  With no forgiveness allocated, anger builds and social unrest is expressed in attempts to rid the heavy burden of group guilt, which all too frequently was misappropriated in the first place.

Change of heart requires more than schooling, laws and quotas.  To change a heart it requires love, compassion, mercy and grace.

  • Love is: Treating and dealing with others as you yourself would want to be treated.
  • Compassion is: Having genuine concern and sympathy towards others and feeling their suffering and misfortunes as if they were your own.
  • Mercy is: Forgiving others when it is in your power to do so and not holding a grudge or making attempt(s) to harm or get even.
  • Grace is: The willingness to realize you have offended someone and make things right.

Political correctness, being woke and demanding retributions will never solve the problems which originate in the human heart.  You can force a person to comply outwardly but doing so will only exacerbate those deeper inner issues. Sooner or later the hate, the intolerance and the contempt harbored within human hearts will spew forth like a pressure relief valve that blows on a steam engine.

Today we are witnessing hate, intolerance and contempt which has been bottled up inside of people’s hearts for far too long.  Labels of racism, discrimination and xenophobia are tossed about with unguarded ambition by those who believe they have been maligned or who are using group guilt in attempts to gain power over others. Instead of revamping their belief system they have chosen to act out their belief system.  Sadly, the belief system they are enacting fetters love, compassion, mercy and grace; the very things which are needed to cure the heart.

If we hope to survive this dark era of humanity it is time to adopt a healthier belief system: A belief system which overcomes racism and every form of discrimination and xenophobia.   It is time to stand up for love, compassion, mercy and grace.  It is time to remove ourselves from the hate, the anger, the intolerance and contempt which are fomenting unrest and evil in our society.

We need each other.  Without others, none of us can ever become what we were designed to be.  We need to join hands with those willing to seek a brighter path, a better future, a happier existence and a more thrilling conclusion.  It is time to end racism by adopting the only belief system which treats others like you would like to be treated. It is time to accept the fact that such a belief system is not humanly possible because racism is as old as the human race.  It is time to acknowledge we need help.  We need God’s help.

Without God and his permanent forgiveness, we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes which humans have made over and over throughout history.  Only with God’s sovereign love, compassion, mercy and grace can we ever hope to be what we were intended to become:  A race united in one purpose, one destiny with no division in regard to the value of each human life while celebrating our unique and divergent abilities.
